Writing an Analysing Paper and a Mentor Text, Year 7 Student

Middle and high school students gain confidence and skills in writing through working with mentor texts which also can strengthen their critical thinking skill and vocabulary development. Mentor texts play a vital role in guiding and supporting students’ journey of learning to write as when they read and reread a written text, they will observe and notice different used elements by the author. The students then will compare the mentor text with their writing and link their writing to form new ideas through reading and analysing other texts, which also will grow their love and interest in literacy, literature and English.
